Creating Your Extraordinary Life

Our January 2009 issue of SUCCESS hits newsstand today! We’re excited to bring you peak performance coach Tony Robbins as the subject of our cover feature. Also in this issue, themed “Designing Your Best Year Ever” we have a terrific lineup of inspiring and insightful articles and columns to help you kickoff 2009. Please take a look at some highlights, as noted in my publisher’s letter below.

2009: Designing Your Best Year Ever

How was 2008 for you? Was it great? Did you set new achievement records for yourself and your business? If so, now you can parlay that momentum and set some SBHAGs (Super Big Hairy Audacious Goals!) for 2009. Was it less than great? I have good news for you too, this is your chance to punch the reset button and start anew.

I love this time of the year. January 1 is a chance to be reborn. No matter who you are or where you are now, everyone comes back to the starting line again. Once the clock strikes midnight on December 31, all the pains, joys, successes, or failures are wiped clean, and the door on the previous year shuts forever. All you bring forward are the wisdoms you have gained from the years thus traveled.

“This is your chance to punch the reset button and start anew.”

When the page flips on the calendar and you wake on Jan.1, 2009, that could be the day, the first day, of Your Best Year Ever. It’s a decision, and you can make that choice. You can decide— this is the one… this is the year I will set out to accomplish my forgotten dreams. No longer will I wait. No longer will I stand on the sidelines watching other people live their dreams. This is my time, my year. This is when I will get healthy, find the love I deserve, or give the love those around me deserve. This is the year I will live the life I was meant to live!

To help you in this quest, we went out and enlisted the very best experts available today. They are going to share their highly coveted insights and strategies for helping you get anything you want and anything you want to achieve in life—in 2009 and beyond.

I think you will find some inspiration for your own goals from our feature on what four entrepreneurs are doing to make 2009 their Best Year Ever (page 44). Then we offer the wisdom and insights of two of the true greats of the personal achievement movement—Stephen Covey on how to find your unique purpose (page 68) and a great, advice-packed article from my personal mentor, Jim Rohn, on principles for succeeding in any season of life (page 42).

And we are proud to present our cover story with Anthony Robbins who will show you how to unleash your personal power (page 50). Be sure to listen to my interview with Tony on the DualDisc™ where he reveals the keys to keeping those resolutions for the New Year.

Make 2009 the year you let your greatness shine!

Just ask and you can get what you want. Ask others to help you? Yes, if you want to ask others, too often sales people never ask the customer, for the sale, and wonders why he/she cannot make the sales goal. I taught in college for many years, and when my students went on an interview, I always told them to ask for the job at the end of the interview, because if they didn’t get the second interview, they would not be in competition for the job. I told my students to say, “When do you want me to start the job?” This gives you a chance to see what the interviewer feels about your chances for the job, and knows that you sell yourself in the interview. Sell yourself and your abilities to the world, and ask for the order, and make sure you fulfill the order, once you get it. William J. Sometimes the hill of life is huge, so high and difficult to climb, you might feel that you lack the ability or the equipment, talent and skills to climb it. Yes, you do. I see a greatness in you that you fail to see. Never sell yourself short, you are special, but you must be willling to see deep within you, that there are many speical things about you, that you are not using, or using enough of your God given gifts to succeed in a way, you never dreamed or beleived you could accomplish. Now today, is the day of the rest of your life, to look into mirrow and see a gift of God, with many talents, ideas, skills, and insights which will give you the equipment to climb over any and all possible obsgtacles to reach your goals today and tomorrow for the rest of your year. Do you stuff, the whole world awaits it. William J. Bond, Author, Speaker, Motivator

2008 was an excellent year, and near the end of the year, I pubished a series of articles that help me end the year with a blaze. But, there is more work to do with this great gift….2009….offers me….to help others succeed. I have many many talents, abilities, and ideas, and the new year will give me the opportunity to showcase them to the world for others who need them. I try to get better and better each day, and learn to try new ideas, programs, and insights to help my customers, students, and people from all over the world. Today is first day of the rest of my life…and I will take advantage of it, and look at myself in different way, to see all that I offer, and give my full extent of my gifts to others. My success in life have been my readers, seminar attendees, customers, and others who supported me over the years. By helping others during this difficult time, gives me a reason to be optomistic, inspiring, and motivational….and give what I have to others who need it. Happy 2009. William J. Bond

2008 has been really a great year for me. A lot of great things, big changes happened in my life. The changes were all for the best, which i really wanted to happen in my life.
I’m so excited for this year 2009. I know and i am confident that greater and better are in store for me since i am now properly guided by the great coaches: the ezines which i subscribed from the great mentors of the success team.
I am really so blessed that i was able to discover your magazine when i was there in the US last summer. The magazine is really informative, the kind of magazine i’ve been wanting to. The articles, the videos.. opened my mind to new learnings and ideas..
I’ve been reading all the ezines and shared it to my friends as well. Everyday i’m looking forward for the ezines of dennis waitley, chris widener, ron white, jim rohn’s and etc… thank you really for your magazine, that i have been blessed with great mentors now.
I always believed in Napoleon Hill that we will have to read and learn everyday. And according to Donald Trump, we have to read the right book, right reference, be with the right team, have the right coaches/mentors. And i do believe that i have found the right one now.
    Thank you, Darren!

I am trying to design my best year ever for 2009. I have the drive and desire to start my own business and for the first time ever I have the money to strike out on my own. However, I have no idea what business to start. It is driving me crazy. Are there any ideas out here? I am interested in business to business services like marketing, for example. My local market has its share of advertising firms. Please help.

    Darren,
Thanks so much for the great January issue of Success magazine. If anyone is truly interested in getting 2009 off the ground this issue is a great catalyst. I have been going back and forth with a decision to leave my current job and begin a new career in personal development. This issue made me realize that now is the time to do it. I have put this decision off long enough and know that I and only I can move myself forward. I know I have the talent, the skills and the information that can help so many other people. Your articles, featured mentors and information only support my belief that everyone can improve their lot in life if they really want to. Thanks for the motivation and additonal tools to begin MY NEW SEASON of my life. Who knows, maybe someday you will be featuring me in your magazine. As Zig say, “You get what you want out of life if you help enough other people get what they want.”
